OUR FAITH
Our Faith
Powers Everything We Do
Christ calls us to love the least of these and show them their identity in Him. Each day we strive to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. As we live this way our lives, our communities, and Columbia will be transformed.
scriptures that Guide Us
1 John 3:1
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God! And indeed that is what we are!
Psalm 10:14
But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
HOLISTIC MINISTRY
The suffering we see in the war-torn country of Columbia is both physical and spiritual. They cannot be separated. We know that our young people cannot thrive without food, shelter, or education. Physical needs are critical, but we also know that without the love of God and the support of a Christ-led community they are also left hungry. For this reason, we recognize that each of our young people are unique -- they all have different stories, experiences, personalities, and families. We serve each boy and girl wholly -- body and spirit, physical and mental, past and present.
CHURCH INVOLVEMENT
Our work is inseparable from the church. It is an extension of the Body of Christ and the work God has called us to do. He calls us to love the "least of these" and to "make disciples of all nations". These commands can be and often are interconnected. Our ministry combines the work of the church in Colombia and the support of the church in the United States to minister to the vulnerable with the hope that they will become disciples participating in the same work we do. Children's Outreach Ministries was born out of this partnership and continues to grow in the hope that we can replace cycles of brokenness with legacies of blessing.
